Join KAI LIN ART as we host our inaugural Open Call for juried 3-Dimensional works: OBJECTS. This inaugural exhibition will encompass a range of themes, styles and techniques celebrating the largely versatile medium of sculpture and relief sculpture.
The competition is open to both emerging and established artists who work in 3-Dimensions. Please submit your artwork and application form before the June 13th, 2025 deadline to be considered.
JUROR
Marc Boyson
Marc Boyson uses memory, invention, and GPS records to reveal the cartographic trace through
his commutes. Through works on paper, projection, murals, sound, and ceramics. He is an
Associate Professor of Fine Art at the School of Visual Art & Design, Southern Adventist
University in Collegedale, TN. Marc is represented by Kai Lin Art, Atlanta, GA. Boyson just
concluded his second solo exhibition Making Marc at the John C. Williams Gallery, Southern
Adventist University, in Collegedale, TN, in February 2025. Marc showed in the inaugural Home/
group exhibition at the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) Cress Gallery of Art at the University
of Tennessee at Chattanooga in Chattanooga, TN, in 2021. In the Teachable Moments group
exhibition at Stove Works in Chattanooga, TN, in 2020. Boyson had a solo member exhibition,
"Our Land is Your Land is My Land," at the Association for Visual Arts, Chattanooga, TN, in
2017. In addition, he had a solo show, "There to Here... Reprise," at the John C. Williams
Gallery, Southern Adventist, 2016. Boyson graduated with an MFA in Studio Art: Ceramic in
2013 from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA.
ENTRY CRITERIA
All artwork must be sculptural in some form and be created by the artist within the last 5 years.
Artists under the age of 18 must have signed parental consent.
Artwork must not exceed 40 inches in any direction. Stand alone objects may not stand more than 60 inches tall by 40 inches wide
Please note how your work is presented. (Wall hung, Ceiling hung, Pedestal, Floor, etc.)
Wall hung artworks must display a 3-Dimensional aspect.
Artists may submit up to five (5) pieces for the $30 application fee.
All artwork must be WORKS FOR SALE.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
• All submissions must be made online per instruction on kailinart.com/objects on or before
Friday, JUNE 13TH, 2025 before 11:59 PM
• Images must be high quality JPEG format between 1MB – 2MB, 300DPI, 1,500 pixels wide.
• Title images, “ARTIST LAST NAME_FIRST NAME_TITLE_MEDIUM_DIMENSIONS (inches)”.
